LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky woman was arrested after she allegedly set a house on fire to kill her mother and her mother's boyfriend.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Office arrested Sarah Shelburne, 33, on multiple charges Saturday night.

Investigators allege Shelburne intentionally set the fire around 9:30 p.m. at the home on Little Union Road in Fairfield after an argument with her mother. 

Her mother and her mother's boyfriend managed to escape.

The sheriff's office said Shelburne "admitted to the fire in an attempt to kill her mother and her mother's boyfriend."

She was arrested and taken the sheriff's office where she reportedly became belligerent and assaulted a deputy.

Shelburne faces several charges including arson, two counts of attempted murder, assault on a police officer, two counts of wanton endangerment and terroristic threatening.

She's being held at the Nelson County Correctional Center.
