LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person was severely injured after being hit by a car in the PRP neighborhood on Tuesday morning.
According to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis, officers responded to the 5200 block of Dixie Highway near Blanton Lane at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Officers believe an adult pedestrian was attempting to cross Dixie Highway when they were hit by a vehicle that was traveling northbound.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained on scene.
The victim was transported to University Hospital with "critical and life threatening injuries," according to Ellis.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
Drivers should expect delays if they are traveling near the area.
