LOUISVILLE, KY — Authorities are searching for Amy Kapetanious, an inmate who was last seen being transported to the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections (LMDC) but has since disappeared.
Hardin County prosecutors tell WDRB News that Kapetanious, who has a lengthy criminal record, fled during transport to LMDC and was never booked into the facility. According to officials, the last confirmed sighting of Kapetanious was during her transport from Hardin County to Louisville.
When contacted for comment, LMDC officials directed us to Hardin County authorities for further information. However, Hardin County authorities confirmed they have no updated details and reiterated that Kapetanious was in route to Louisville when she went missing.
Kapetanious has a history of criminal activity, including previous charges related to drug possession and identity theft. She was also charged in 2020 with second-degree escape.
As of now, authorities have not shared any new information on her whereabouts. WDRB News is working to gather more details as the search for Kapetanious continues.
