LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Jefferson County, Kentucky, man is facing multiple child pornography charges after police said he shared images of minors on a messaging app.

Michael Booth, 39, of Prospect, was arrested Wednesday and charged with at least 20 counts of child pornography. 

According to his arrest citation, police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about Booth's Kik account distributing images depicting children in sexual acts from Aug. 5-7 this year. 

While serving a search warrant, police found multiple files depicting children under the age of 12, files depicting minors over the age of 12 and under the age of 18. Police also found the files depicting minors under the age of 12 were distributed at least 10 times, while other files were sent on at least 15 occasions. 

Booth is being held in Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 cash bond, and is due in court Thursday morning.
