LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The 40-year-old Louisville woman arrested for DUI after allegedly hitting a person riding a motorcycle earlier this week is now charged with murder.

Erica Parker was arrested after the crash near South Hurstbourne Parkway just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to court documents.

That's where Jeffersontown police said Parker hit a motorcycle. The rider was knocked off the motorcycle and left unconscious before being taken to the hospital.

The rider, identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as Donell Johnson, 38, died at the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Parker's bond was set at $250,000, and, in court Friday, a judge ruled she could be placed on home incarceration.

Investigators said Parker told police she had one beer about three hours earlier but was unsteady on her feet. After conducting a field sobriety test, Parker was arrested, at which point police said she smelled of alcohol.

She was charged with assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
