LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A suspect is in custody after a man was shot and killed in Washington County.
According to Indiana State Police, just after midnight Sunday, officers responded to a person shot inside of a home in the 500 block of North College Avenue. For perspective, that's one block away from Hackberry Street, just north of downtown Salem.
"It's just something that you never think is gonna happen in your town, on your street. That's whenever it hits you," said Anita Dearborn, who has lived in Washington County for 40 years.
Dearborn found out about the shooting at church.
"It was all over Facebook. And, they were talking about it and, 'Oh Lord,'" Dearborn said.
Police believe it was a domestic incident. Jacob Mitchell, 29, of Salem was pronounced deceased on the scene.

"[It's] devastating," Dearborn said.
Police said 24-year-old Blake Henry and two women were inside the home at the time of the shooting. All three were taken to the Washington County Justice Center for questioning.
"Whenever my kids were little, we had some drinks, you know, that would carry on and have parties, but nothing like this," Dearborn said.
Henry was arrested by ISP and charged with murder. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
"We watch WDRB all the time, and you hear (about) Louisville all the time, shootings and stuff, but it's never, we've never had it on our street," Dearborn said.
Dearborn said she did not know Mitchell, Henry, or the two women.
The investigation remains ongoing.
