LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — One of the suspects charged in the death of a Louisville jail officer changed his plea Monday.

Anthony Trabue, 37, was arrested after a brief standoff with police March 27, 2025, in connection with the fatal shooting of Michael Wehdah, an officer at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

Wehdah was found shot to death in the 2700 block of Cedar Street in the city's Russell neighborhood Feb. 16, 2025.

Trabue, one of three suspects in Wehdah's death, was charged with complicity to murder and robbery.

In court Monday morning, Trabue pleaded guilty to amended charges of second-degree manslaughter and first-degree criminal facilitation to robbery as part of a plea deal.

The state recommended a sentence of seven and-a-half years on each charge to run concurrently for a total of seven and-a-half years. He must serve at least 85% of the sentence to be eligible for parole, probation or shock probation. A judge will have the final say at Trabue's formal sentencing on Aug. 26.

Two other suspects in the case are also due back in court in August.

Brian Ramsey was arrested Dec. 17, 2025, on charges of complicity to murder and complicity to robbery. Kristy Brumley, 35, was arrested March 25 on a charge of complicity to murder.

Brumley admitted to LMPD officers she was involved in his murder, according to an arrest citation. She told police she brought Wehdah to the location where the shooting occurred and "was present when the victim was shot by a known co-defendant."

She told police she took Wehdah's car and phone "for the purpose of concealing and or destroying evidence."

Ramsey and Brumley are both expected back in court Aug. 19.

Wehdah, a Liberian immigrant who gained citizenship in the U.S. in 2022, lived in Louisville with his wife and teenage son. He enrolled in the Louisville Metro Corrections Academy in August 2024 and officially became an officer that November.
