LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A teenager was shot in Louisville's Parkland neighborhood Thursday night.

Louisville Metro Police said in a news release that officers were called to the 1300 block of South 28th Street about 9:30 p.m. 

When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot in the stomach and hand. He was taken to UofL Health Hospital in downtown Louisville. He was expected to survive. 

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Squad was handling the investigation. Anyone with information about what happened is encouraged to call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).
