LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police arrested a Canadian man late last month who allegedly had dozens of weapons in his car.
It happened Sept. 25, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. That's when troopers patrolling Interstate 75 in Madison County became suspicious of criminal activity after pulling over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop.
During a search of the vehicle, troopers found 39 handguns and four rifles inside the car. Further investigation found six of the weapons were reported stolen, and three of the handguns had been converted to fully automatic.
KyShawn Maxwell, 20, of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, was arrested at the scene. He is charged with receiving stolen property.
The investigation continues with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and the United States Attorney’s Office.Â
