LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is dead after a shooting near Louisville's PRP neighborhood Friday morning.
Louisville police said officers were called to the 7500 block of Winstead Drive around 5:30 a.m. on a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
She was taken to UofL Hospital in critical condition. LMPD spokesman Adam Sears said in an update that she died shortly after arriving to the hospital.
Due to the nature of the victim’s injuries, LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
