LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Ā A major convention is partially pulling out of Louisville, delivers a significant economic blow to the city.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, the Equip Exposition will begin rotating between Louisville and Orlando in 2029. It's an international landscape, outdoor living and equipment trade show.
Officials said the Orlando space is bigger and has nonstop international flights.
"This rotation gives our exhibitors and attendees the best of both worlds," Kris Kiser, president of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, which owns and manages Equip, said in a news release Thursday.
"Orlando has space for our members to host dealer meetings, provides additional co-location opportunities, and offers expanded venue choice for exhibitor and attendee programming. The rotation also allows us to work with Louisville on enhancing their unique outdoor demo area ā the only venue of its kind in the country."
The event has been held exclusively in Louisville for the last 42 years and is one of the market's biggest trade shows. Last year's event welcomed around 26,000 people and had an estimated economic impact of $30 million.
