LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A driver suffered minor injuries after a crash Friday morning involving a stopped train in Louisville.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded around 7:56 a.m. to the area of Six Mile Lane near Westwood Farms Drive for a reported crash involving a train.
Police said a Norfolk Southern train had stopped on the tracks for an unknown reason, causing traffic to back up. Investigators said a van hit a vehicle that was stopped because of the train, pushing it into the side of one of the train cars.
One person suffered minor injuries and was taken by EMS to UofL Hospital. Police said the victim was alert and conscious, and the injuries aren't considered life-threatening. The driver of the van wasn't injured.
Police are investigating the crash.
