LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dogs took a walk down a runway on Sunday in NuLu for a good cause.

The 2024 Rescues and Roses Derby season fashion show was held at NuLu Marketplace. All proceeds from the event were donated to Animal Care Society, which supports dogs and cats in Louisville find a forever home.

The free event had seasonal cocktails, a vendor market and a fashion show for people and their four-legged friends.

"At any given time we're at full capacity as most animal shelters are in town and this is a great opportunity to showcase the available dogs for adoption," Jason Wetherington, the Animal Care Society executive director, said.

People signed up for a chance to be in this year's fashion show. The top vote getters were then invited to walk the runway.
