Dear Moore Families,
Our top priority is always the safety and security of our students and staff. When something happens that could impact the safety of our school community, we take immediate action.
This afternoon, administrators were notified that a student may have a weapon in their possession. We immediately called LMPD and JCPS Police and isolated the student suspected of having a weapon. Police found a gun in the student’s backpack.
The student involved will be disciplined in accordance with the Student Support and Behavior Intervention Handbook. Every family receives a copy of the Student Support Behavior Intervention Handbook and it is available on the JCPS website. The handbook outlines expectations of appropriate behavior and the possible consequences of inappropriate behavior.
