LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) is investigating an incident between students at an elementary school.
The principal of Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School, Samantha Miller, sent a letter home to parents and families on Feb. 4.
The letter said security cameras captured students engaging in inappropriate behavior during wellness time last month. The school made the JCPS Police Department and Child Protective Services aware of the incident, and the district is following up with the parents of the students.
Miller said she would prefer to address the issue directly with the students and families involved, but inaccurate claims were being shared online.

Dear Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School Families,
I am writing to inform you of a sensitive issue that occurred recently at our school. We would prefer to address this issue directly with the students and families involved. However, we’re also aware of inaccurate claims being shared online, and I want to ensure our families have accurate information.
Last month, our security cameras captured students engaging in inappropriate behavior during wellness time. Since discovering this incident, we have involved the JCPS Police Department, JCPS Compliance and Investigations, and Child Protective Services. The District is following up with the parents and guardians of all students involved.
We are carefully reviewing this incident and ensuring that all necessary steps are being taken to both address the situation and ensure the continued safety of all students.
We appreciate your continued support of LPAS, and thank you for your respect and sensitivity on this matter.
Sincerely,
Samantha Miller
Principal
