LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville school will get an expanded space ahead of its next school year.
The Kentucky College of Art + Design is moving into a new building on Garvin Place in Old Louisville from its current home on West Ormsby Avenue, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.
The 1.2-acre campus includes a 30,000-square-foot academic building and a 6,000-square-foot studio.
The buildings formerly housed a data intelligence firm called Genscape, which was purchased in 2019.
School officials said they will begin new programs online, including digital fabrication, experimental fashion, film and graphic design.
KyCAD was founded in 2009 and is the only private and independent college of art and design in Kentucky, offering a studio-focused Bachelor of Fine Arts curriculum.
