LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Officials with Bullitt County Public Schools said they are forced to close schools ahead of Election Day to accommodate early voting.
The district will be closed on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
The district said the Bullitt County Clerk's Office decided to use schools for early voting sites, despite their protests.
The district is now calling for legislative changes to stop schools from being used as early voting sites.
BCPS said they're forced to close on those days to ensure student safety.
