LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- All parents eligible for transportation stipends from JCPS can now start signing up, according to district officials.
The stipends are for families who lost transportation this year and chose to drive their kids to school. Families will be eligible for $5 a day, or $10 a day, if their student qualifies for free or reduced lunch.
JCPS officials said about 17,000 students are eligible for the stipends.
Toiya Neal drives her child to school each day, and she's grateful.Â
"I have already put gas in my car twice a day, and so that means I maybe fill up three times a week. And so that extra little bit of help definitely helps," Neal said.Â
