LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new adult day center officially opened Thursday in west Louisville.
ElderServe leaders cut the ribbon Thursday morning to celebrate the center on South 28th Street in the Russell neighborhood.
The goal is to help older adults overcome social isolation, pursue wellness and maintain their independence. The center will also support those living with dementia and Alzheimer's.
"Today is not just about a ribbon-cutting," said Timothy Findley Jr., chief executive officer of ElderServe. "It's a celebration of community, of inclusivity and our shared commitment to the wellbeing of our seniors."
The Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association also celebrated the ribbon-cutting Thursday. The organization said the new center is a much-needed resource for families living in Louisville.
