LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new event in west Louisville is bringing families and young people together for a day of unity and inspiration.
“Bridging Generations is about more than an event — it’s a movement,” coordinator Leora Jackson said in a news release. “We want our young people to see that their voices matter.”
The Bridging Generations Youth Walk Extravaganza is hosted by United for Hope, Stability & Change, along with Umoja Soul Youth and other community groups. The event will feature music, youth performances and a community walk to the Take A Knee Bridge on Broadway.
Organizers said it’s about building stronger ties between youth and elders while promoting respect, leadership and hope.
The event is set for Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1-5 p.m. at Sanction House Church, 3400 Greenwood Ave.
Youth can also enter essay and open mic contests focused on positivity and community. Winners will receive prizes, including electric bikes and scooters.
