LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The federal trial of a former Louisville Metro Police officer charged in connection with the deadly raid on Breonna Taylor's home is expected to start on Monday.
Brett Hankison was indicted on two charges of deprivation of rights for firing into a bedroom window in Taylor's apartment that was covered with blinds and a blackout curtain.
According to the indictment, there was "no longer a lawful objective justifying the use of deadly force." Hankison's trial was originally supposed to start in August, but was delayed until October to allow the defense to go over a large amount of evidence turned in by prosecutors.
Hankison also faces charges for shooting through a wall of Taylor's apartment and into a neighboring unit, which endangered three people.
The trial is expected to take about three weeks.
