LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- No one was injured when a house went up in flames near Churchill Downs Tuesday afternoon.
Capt. Donovan Sims, a spokesperson for the Louisville Division of Fire, said crews were called to a two-story home in the 700 block of Heywood Avenue around 3 p.m. on a reported residential structure fire and potential rescue of three people. That's off South 4th Street near Central Avenue and Rodman Street.
Sims said everyone in the home made it out safely on their own and no one was hurt.
Crews were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes, Sims said, and were able to keep the flames from spreading to the homes next door.
Louisville Metro Arson is now investigating.
