LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's coming down to the wire for Floyd County to get an agreement for an ambulance service.Â
The service provided by New Chapel EMS runs out at the end of May. It's the company that used to be run by former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel.
Noel is facing multiple charges, and has been accused of using EMS funds for his own gain.Â
The leading bidder to provide ambulance service is about five times more expensive.Â
One woman with a disabled son read her child's letter to the county commissioners on Tuesday, pleading for a decision and for a stop to "political games."
Commissioners talked Tuesday about the possibility of a one-year agreement for ambulance service, giving them time to figure out funding and the best long-term solution.
