LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The latest search warrants released Wednesday outline new records and allegations in the case against former Clark County, Indiana, Sheriff Jamey Noel.

Investigators sought PNC Bank records for Noel, his wife and daughter, as well as New Chapel Fire and EMS. They want to know if millions of dollars in credit card charges linked to the Noels were paid with public funds. They also are looking into whether state Medicaid money intended for New Chapel EMS was spent properly.

In addition, the documents allege Noel's associate, former deputy and former Scott County Sheriff Kenny Hughbanks, and his wife did not report more than $214,000 of income on their state tax returns. That includes money from the Clark County jail commissary fund paid to them and businesses they operated, records said.

Noel faces theft, tax evasion and ghost employment charges. And his wife is charged with theft and tax evasion.

Hughbanks and his wife have not been charged in the case.

Investigators have made public 41 search warrants and their findings since their probe began last summer, each outlining evidence seized or otherwise learned in the case.

Noel served as Clark County Sheriff from 2015-23 and headed New Chapel Fire and EMS and the Utica Township Volunteer Fire Department.
