LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hanukkah was celebrated in downtown Louisville on Sunday.

City and state leaders met at Fourth Street Live! to light the Menorah. Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, Mayor Craig Greenberg and Rabbi Avrohom Litvin, regional director of Chabad of Kentucky, met for the fourth night of Hanukkah.

Greenberg celebrates the holiday himself, so he said it was even more important to be able to celebrate on a larger scale with other Louisvillians.

"It was very special," Greenberg said. "Rachel and I and my boys, we're used to lighting the Menorah at home. It was nice tonight to do that as part of a community celebration."

The Trager Family JCC will host its annual Hanukkah Celebration and Menorah Lighting on Monday. It will take place at the Trager Family Jewish Community Center on Dutchmans Lane from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be latkes, donuts, live music and games.

The Jewish holiday ends on Friday.
