LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The Louisville Free Public Library is adding thousands of online courses to its catalog through Lynda.com.

The free offering will give library members access to comprehensive online learning videos covering topics from photography and Microsoft Office to computer programming and the Adobe Creative Suite.

The training courses provide training for business, software, technology and creative skills for a range of professional and recreational purposes.

“We are taking steps on many fronts to make Louisville a city of lifelong learning and develop a better-educated, better prepared workforce,” Mayor Greg Fischer said. “The Library's new online courses and training offers people of all ages, anywhere in our community, the chance to learn skills they need to grow and be successful.”

Library members can access the courses from home or at the library by logging in to LFPL.org/Lynda and entering your library card number and password.

Lynda.com is just one more way the Library is helping support our patrons in their pursuit of lifelong learning,” said LFPL Interim Director, Lisa Sizemore. “Individual subscribers currently pay $375 a year to access Lynda.com But thanks to the grant from OPI, we are able to offer this incredible service for FREE to all library card holders.”
