LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — For Louisville residents looking for a new career path, Goodwill of Kentucky is creating more opportunities.
Goodwill celebrated the grand opening of a new skills lab at its West Louisville Opportunity Center, giving participants access to workforce training, career exploration and job-readiness programs.
The lab was made possible through a $400,000 investment from Aetna Better Health of Kentucky as part of a four-year partnership focused on helping people prepare for careers.
Goodwill officials said the organization’s goal is to provide people with the tools, resources and support needed to take the next step in their careers.
The new lab will provide hands-on training, with the first group of participants starting classes in August. The three-week program will prepare students for careers as pharmacy technicians.
Through the partnership with Aetna Better Health of Kentucky, Goodwill plans to continue expanding workforce development programs designed to connect more people with education and employment opportunities.
