LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear is making sure tornado victims are getting the resources they need.  It's been more than two weeks since tornadoes ripped through West Liberty, Kentucky, flattening much of the city.

President Obama declared it a disaster area, clearing the way for residents to receive federal funds.  Monday, the governor toured West Liberty and Salyersville.

"They were two of the hardest hit in terms of an urban area," the governor said, adding he wanted, "just to check on them, make sure we are doing everything we can do, that we are moving as fast as we can and I'm getting good reports from local officials -- working together to get the monies to our citizens as fast as we can."

FEMA is still on the ground in those towns, and several recovery centers are still open.
