LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hundreds of stamp collectors have converged in Louisville hoping to compete and find hidden treasure. The AmeriStamp Expo is going on this weekend at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
The convention features the works of stamp collectors from across the country. The weekend includes competitions in several categories. Dealers are also on hand to help folks complete their collections.
"That's what so great about stamp collecting.There are so many aspects to it. None of them are right and none are wrong, and I really enjoy it. To me, that's the secret to it" said John Baumert.
Baumert specializes in German stamp history, especially the inflation years from 1921 to 1923.
The American Philatelic Society has more than 35,000 members.
