OMNI PENTHOUSE

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The penthouse apartment at the new Omni Louisville Hotel is the ultimate room with a view --with a price tag to match.

"That view is just something you can't get anywhere else in Louisville, and it's just breathtaking. When you walk in and see the view and see the glass, it's just breathtaking," said Doug Taylor, the area vice president for the Lincoln Property Company.

There are only two penthouses for rent at The Residences at the Omni. They are both on the 29th floor, and they each rent for about $9,000 a month.

Another 200 apartments are available in the downtown building. They include studios, one and and two bedroom apartments ranging in price from $1,300 to $5,000 a month.

Will Wolf is renting while he works in Indiana, and he said it tops other apartments he's lived in in cities like Chicago and New York.

"I've taken pics of that lobby and sent to my friends, and they say are you in New York. And I say 'no, I'm at the Omni in Louisville, Kentucky,' And from that standpoint, it's just an incredible experience," Wolf said.

Property management said only about 26 percent of the apartments are leased, but not all of them are finished. They hope to be fully occupied by next May, which will be a year after the property opened.

They gotten calls about the penthouses, but both are still available. If you're wondering who's interested and already living at the Omni, managers say renters include attorneys, people in the medical and financial fields.
