LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Indiana's attorney general Todd Rikita filed a formal motion Wednesday with the Indiana Supreme Court to seek execution of a man convicted of killing two children in 2010.

Jeffrey Wise-Hite was convicted of murdering 5-year-old Caleb and 7-year-old Alyssa Lynch in Vanderburgh County.

According to court records Weisheit hog-tied Caleb with duct tape, placed railroad flares in the boy’s underwear, and lit them before fleeing the house.

Alyssa was also inside at the time.

Both children died as the fire spread through the home.

Police caught Weisheit after a high-speed chase into Kentucky. Before officers could detain him, he threw a knife at them.

Rokita said the state previously had issues with pharmaceutical companies withholding drug required to carry out executions, but those issues have since been resolved.

If scheduled and carried out, the execution would take place at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City. It would be Indiana's fourth execution since 2024.
