LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some people in Salem, Indiana, are fed up after dealing with brown water for far too long.
When Bonnie Jarvis turns on her faucet, she never knows what she's going to get.
"It's been like almost like every other day we've had an issue," she said.
The water that comes out is oftentimes brown. This is a picture of a pitcher of water this week, she went to water her plants and it looked like this.

On Wednesday, she filled the same pitcher and although it wasn't quite the same color, the sediment is visible.
"I use the bathtub upstairs quite a bit, and you know, I know I'm not that dirty, and it's just gross," Jarvis said. "It's yellow and brown."
The toilets in her house look like someone didn't flush, and she can't wash certain clothes for fear of the water staining them.
But Jarvis takes care of her 14-month-old granddaughter 3-4 days a week, so for her, it's a bigger concern.
"This summer when I'd fill her kiddie pool up, I'd worry about well is this even safe for her just to be, I mean she's not ingesting it, but is it safe for her to be sitting in it and playing in it," Jarvis said. "You're always washing their hands or washing their face off, and you just, you worry about that."
She also showed WDRB News a jar of water she kept from 3 weeks ago. She said the water was brown at first, but now it's settled and you can see the particles in the bottom.
Dozens of other people in Salem are having the same problem, posting pictures of their sinks, bathtubs and buckets filled with brown water.

"This has been going on for a long time, and nothing appears to be getting done or fixed," Jarvis said.
She and others said they've reached out to the city and are getting the same blanket statement. WDRB also reached out to Mayor Justin Green, who said the same thing. The water is safe to drink and it's not necessary to boil it.
But his constituents don't buy it.
"It can't be safe to drink if it's this discolored, and we're all kind of searching, OK, what's it gonna take to get this fixed and what's it gonna take to get them to listen to us," Jarvis said.
The mayor said they're working diligently to fix the problem.
