LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersonville High School teacher was fired by the Greater Clark County Schools Board of Trustees on Tuesday over claims of sexual harassment.Â
Cory Norman was fired as the girls' head basketball coach earlier this year and, during Tuesday evening's school board meeting, was fired as a teacher.
Last week, the board sat through a 6-hour hearing where witnesses testified about what they described as sexual harassment.
The information was made public Tuesday in a written report.Â
Witnesses described Norman harassing several female staff members in an unprofessional and sexual way that crossed the line. Another witness said Norman made inappropriate comments to a female student about her underwear.
There were other questions raised about how Norman kept fundraising money for the girls' basketball team, and even more concerns about his conduct in front of players.
The investigation into Norman also uncovered the reasoning behind another coach's firing at the school. According to the report, former cross country coach Michael Stanton made unprofessional comments to a female staff member that made her feel threatened and uncomfortable.
Stanton was fired from his coaching position in September.
