LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The city council in Jeffersonville, Ind. decided whether or not water service should be cut off for customers behind on their sewer bills Monday night.

City leaders say even if a customer's water bill is current, sewer service may be interrupted because the utilities are tied together.

About 4,000 Jeffersonville sewer customers owe the city $1.9 million.

Officials say anyone more than 60 days and at least 100-dollars past due could be cut off beginning this week.

The council expects to take a final vote at 7 p.m.
