LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Jonah Bevin, the estranged son of former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, can still pursue child support.
That's according to a ruling by Judge Will Moynahan with the Kentucky Court of Appeals.
Jonah Bevin accused his parents of sending him to an abusive boarding school when he was a teenager that was later shut down by the Jamaican government.
According to court documents, he received a high school diploma in August 2024 and turned 18 that November.Â
Jonah Bevin said he didn't push for child support sooner because he was still a child at the Jamaican boarding school at the time.
"Neither Glenna or myself are earning much, if any, income. We have been spending in recent years money in the sale of properties and from savings, and the information respective from the amount of income that I have has already been provided," Matt Bevin told a judge about his finances last month.
The former governor and Glenna Bevin divorced last March. Matt Bevin is also pushing to get Family Court Judge Angela Johnson removed from the case, but the Kentucky Supreme Court has yet to issue a ruling. His attorney couldn't be reached for comment on Thursday.
