LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear took part in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this week.
The event includes an interactive dialogue focused on U.S. policies from the perspective of governors.
Beshear was joined by Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee to discuss inflation, tariffs, and other pressures as President Donald Trump's administration moves into office.
"These threatened tariffs aren't about trade and balance, they're about leverage. Why? Because President (Donald) Trump has been very clear that they're about leverage, but the impacts could go right to the reasons he was elected, and could have some significant impact on that very quickly," Beshear said.
The forum started on Jan. 20 and ends Friday, Jan. 24.
President Donald Trump spoke to business leaders at the forum virtually from the White House as he continues to play up the American businesses climate, while saying he's willing to get tough on trade deficits.
The president doubled down on his willingness to tax foreign goods, but also promised economic growth.
