LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet planners want the public's input on future rail service in the Commonwealth.

KYTC has completed a draft of the 2024 Kentucky Statewide Rail Plan, an outline of the state's current railroad operations and ways railroads can increase Kentucky's economic growth and improve quality of life.

The agency will hold two virtual public meetings for the public to review the draft plan and answer questions.

The meetings will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. EST. If you would like to attend one of the meetings, you will need to register by clicking here. People who need special accommodations for the meetings can email info@kyrailplan.com

Public feedback will be accepted for two weeks after Jan. 21, then KYTC will finalize the rail plan and send it off to the Federal Railroad Administration for approval.
