LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kids enjoyed the weather and plenty of candy Sunday at Louisville Metro Police's trunk or treat event.
Officers from the 1st Division hosted a trunk or treat at the Kroger Parking lot on West Broadway. Some of the kids dressed up in their best Halloween costumes.
There were bouncy houses, slides, face painting, and the mounted patrol was even on hand with horses for the kids to pet.
"27th and Broadway is kind of right in the heart of the community," said Jeremy Wright, a resource officer for LMPD's 1st Division. "It's a place everybody comes to get their food. It is highly traveled, so we get to reach more people out here on Broadway."
Some of the officers played basketball with the kids when not handing out candy, while others grilled hot dogs for the families.
