LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville Metro Police officer was injured in a crash Monday night after police said a car pulled in front of her cruiser on Dixie Highway.

The crash happened around 8:25 p.m. in the 9000 block of Dixie Highway, just south of Pages Lane.

Police said the officer was responding to a call with her lights and sirens on when a car pulled out in front of her cruiser, causing the two vehicles to crash.

Officers at the scene gave the officer first aid until EMS and Pleasure Ridge Park Fire crews arrived.

The officer was alert and conscious, and taken to UofL Hospital with what police said are non-life-threatening injuries.

The other driver was not injured.

LMPD is investigating the crash.
