LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Louisville Metro Police Department is looking for public feedback on the latest version of its use of force policy.

The first phase of the updated policy was posted on the department's website at the end of March. A link for the public to provide input on that phase of the updated policy will be live for about two weeks, until April 12.

On Friday, the department released the second phase of its draft for public feedback. The deadline to provide feedback on the second phase is April 24.

Leaders will review the feedback and make any needed changes. The final revisions will then be published at least 10 days before the new policy takes effect.

"We encourage you to take this opportunity to inspect the draft policies and submit feedback. All comments submitted during this period will be reviewed and considered," LMPD said Monday in a post on social media. "Your voice matters. Help shape the policies that reflect the values and needs of our community."
