LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some families around Kentuckiana rang in 2025 with new members.
The first baby born in 2025 at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital arrived at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday.
Norton Healthcare said Destiny and Garrett Sapp welcomed a baby boy, Hayden Ryan Sapp. He came into the world weighing 8 pounds and 9 ounces.
Over at UofL Hospital, Rosa and Alejandro Santiago celebrated the birth of their baby boy, Alex. He was born at 7:52 a.m., also weighing 8 pounds and 9 ounces.Â
UofL Health said it delivered more than 2,000 babies in the last year.
Baptist Health welcomed its first 2025 baby at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday. Hospital officials said Madilyn and Mike Miller welcomed their second child. The baby boy was born weighing nearly 7 pounds.Â
Baptist said he and his mom are now resting comfortably after a long day.
Across the river, Baptist Health Floyd in southern Indiana welcomed its first baby of 2025 at 6:19 a.m. Chelsey and Andrew Morris, of Hanover, Indiana, welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Rhett Watson Morris. He weighs 6 pounds and 11 ounces, and is 20 and-a-quarter inches long, and came into the world three weeks before his Jan. 21 due date. Baptist said he and his mother are doing great.
