LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The owners of a local pool company facing charges in Clark County, Indiana, are now facing more charges.
This time, those charges are in Floyd County, Indiana.
Tracy and Matt Davenport own Davenport Extreme Pools and Spas. They were charged in Floyd County on Friday with two counts of Corrupt Business Influence and eight felony counts of fraud and theft. The company was the focus of a WDRB investigation in January.
Tracy Davenport was released on a $20,000 bond. Matt Davenport was released on a $10,000 bond.Â
According to court documents, the couple took more than $245,000 from four victims in Floyd County to build pools, dating back to 2021. But they never built anything.
There may be at least 50 victims in both Indiana and Kentucky, court documents state. The Davenports are accused of fraudulently taking millions of dollars.
Earlier this week, they turned themselves into the Clark County Jail, charged with four counts of theft, four counts of fraud and two counts of corrupt business influence in Clark County — all felony charges.
Lawsuits have also been filed against the company. One lawsuit alleges Davenport spent customer money on "lavish vacations to Las Vegas, personal cosmetic surgeries, a six-figure recreational vehicle, and the purchase of an expensive pleasure cruising lake boat."
The couple filed for bankruptcy late last year. Their attorney previously said in a statement that his clients look forward to a jury trial.
Any Indiana resident who believes they may have been a victim associated with this case is encouraged to contact the Indiana State Police in Sellersburg.
