LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Christmas came a little early for a London, Kentucky, woman, after she played one of the Kentucky Lottery online games and won a $123,221.48 prize.Â
It happened while the woman — who does not want to be identified — was spending time with family for the Christmas holidays.
"It was such a fantastic day," she told lottery officials. "I thought 'Let's finish the night off right.'"Â
Normally, her favorite Instant Play game is "Coins Of The Titans." But that night, she decided to play the "Juicy Wins Jackpot." After betting $25, she won on a few games adding up to $61. It was on her fourth try when she decided to wager $1.
"I got four bunches," she said. "I thought 'Lord, wouldn't that be wonderful,'" while hoping for a big win. She was overwhelmed with joy after she realized she'd won the jackpot.
"I about died!" she said.Â
"I heard her scream, and I wanted to make sure she didn't have a heart attack or something," the woman's son said.Â
So far, she's only told close relatives about the big win.
She drove to Kentucky Lottery headquarters in Louisville on Dec. 23 to claim her prize, which came to $88,719.46 after taxes. She told lottery officials she plans to pay off her house and debt with her winnings.
