LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Dezaree Wells, better known as Dez, is the president of the No Limit Car Club, one of the most recognized car clubs in Louisville. Her car, a red Dodge Charger, currently adorned with holiday lights, is a reflection of her vibrant personality and her passion for cars.
This holiday season, the club is spreading cheer through its annual Christmas giveaway.
“We’re delivering the gifts on Sunday,” Dez shared, beaming with pride.
But even without the festive decorations, her car draws plenty of attention —sometimes the wrong kind.
“One time, I got pulled over because a car similar to mine was speeding in the neighborhood,” Dez explained. “Luckily, I was able to prove I wasn’t there at the time.”
Dez’s love for cars stems from her childhood, inspired by her grandfather.
“Growing up, I was always around him, seeing all the cars. It caught my eye,” she said.
However, Dez is adamant about keeping her club’s activities honest. Illegal street racing and street takeovers are strictly forbidden for members of No Limit Car Club. Those who break the rules are removed from the group.
Instead, Dez is advocating for safe, organized spaces where car enthusiasts can enjoy their passion responsibly.
“There should be guidelines,” Dez said. “You have officers, fire marshals, and EMS present in case something goes wrong. It can really be a good thing. And the city could charge for it, people would pay.”
For Brandon Lewis, known as Breezy, such a space could help him achieve his dream of turning his love for speed into a career.
“They start on the streets, but eventually, they want to go professional,” Breezy explained. “They want to get paid to do this because it’s something they love.”
Both Dez and Breezy hope the city will consider creating a safe, regulated environment where car enthusiasts can enjoy their hobby without risking their safety or their vehicles.
