LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Firefighters rescued and revived two dogs after responding to a residential fire Monday evening that displaced one person.
The Louisville Fire Department responded to a reported residential fire at 5:18 p.m. Monday in the 500 Block of N. 26th Street.
The residents were already outside of the home when firefighters arrived on the scene. A man from a first-floor apartment was able to escape on his own before firefighters arrived. He was not injured but was evaluated at the scene by EMS.
The fire was confined to the building it started and an LFD crew of 26 firefighters brought it under control by 5:35 p.m.
During operations, crews also found two dogs unresponsive on a nearby sidewalk. Firefighters administered oxygen, successfully reviving both animals.
The fire displaced one resident and the Louisville Fire Department Arson Unit is still investigating the cause.
