LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Leaders cut the ribbon on a new affordable housing complex Friday in Louisville's west end.
PortShaw Place adds 38 apartments to the 3800 block of West Market Street in the city's Shawnee neighborhood.
The apartment complex includes on-site parking and 24/7 security monitoring.
"Whatever anyone else's hopes and dreams are for themselves and their family, they cannot do it if they don't have a safe quality and affordable place to call home," said Mayor Craig Greenberg.
The city declared Friday as PortShaw Day in honor of the grand opening.
