LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky State Police is investigating after an inmate was found unresponsive in his cell at an eastern Kentucky prison.
KSP said in a release correctional officers at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty, Kentucky found 34-year-old Robert Broyles, of Louisville, unresponsive in his cell Sunday morning.
Correctional officers performed "life-saving measures" before Broyles was taken to Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital in Morgan County where he died.
KSP said foul play is suspected, but the investigation remains ongoing.
