LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A locally-owned taco chain in Louisville's Highlands neighborhood has closed its doors for good.
Tacos D Amor and More on Bardstown Road closed Monday, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.
The chain, formerly known as I Love Tacos, opened the location in 2021 in the space previously occupied by Panera Bread, which closed in 2020, and the longtime record store Ear X-tacy, which closed in 2011.
It sat next door to the former Mark's Feed Store, which closed in August 2025 after 30 years.
The company cited declining traffic in its decision to close.Â
“Sales at that location have dropped off a lot,” co-owner Ernesto Riveria told LBF. “You see what happened to Mark's Feed Store. It was the same, foot traffic was off quite a bit. So, we decided to close. Some of the employees are going to work in our NuLu location and some of them are going to Blankenbaker.”
Tacos D Amor and More continues to operate six other restaurants in the Louisville area under both its new and old name.
