LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Â USA Cares is working with Louisville homeless shelters like St. Vincent de Paul to identify homeless veterans and help them find housing and jobs.
USA Cares, a military veteran and family support system, has for years been dedicated to helping military veterans and their families with everything from housing to financial support. And now, the organization is delving deeper into one of its programs.
Jessie Mosley is a veteran recently helped by USA Cares. Several months ago, he hit rock bottom after being discharged from the U.S. Army.Â
"I was living in a hotel and did not have a job," Mosley said Tuesday.Â

Mosley even has a college degree. But after exhausting all his resources, he turned to the internet for help.
"I Googled help for veterans, which I would not normally do, and USA Cares was the first or second one that popped up," he said.
USA Cares helps veterans with everything from financial assistance to housing and jobs. They helped Mosley find a job at St. Vincent de Paul.
"I'm a case manager for homeless men who are needing help getting housed and finding work finding jobs," he said.
David Keene, who manages the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program, said it targets veterans across the state.
"We actually covered 65 counties with our program," he said.
Keene believes working with homeless shelters has helped them save lives.
"We have had veterans who were living on the street and abandoned cars and so forth," he said. "And, certainly, those that were out there during the winter, I mean, their lives were literally at stake."
Several months after losing everything, Mosley is happy to be back on his feet and helping others do the same.
"It was a really, really hard time, not just physically but mentally," he said. "I love the fact that I'm able to help other people get through the things that I also went through."
