LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Employees of Louisville Metro Government now have a new way to report sexual harassment allegations.
Through a partnership with the nonprofit Family Scholar House, Metro employees now have a phone number specifically dedicated for them: 502-466-2500.
The phone line is up and running now, and all callers can remain anonymous and talk with a social worker at Family Scholar House.
It'll be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
"The call line ensures that employees will be able to reach out in a safe and confidential manner, knowing that their concerns will be address promptly and professionally," Cathe Dykstra, CEO of the Family Scholar House, said Tuesday.
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said Metro Government will only be informed of a report and begin an investigation if the caller gives permission to the social worker.
"We take these allegations very seriously. It's unacceptable," Greenberg said. "And we want anyone who's experiencing that to have an option outside Metro Government if that will help them feel ready to come forward."
